Doe anyone hate Myspace or Facebok as much as me?

i am the only person i know who doesn't like them. i am like the only person at school who doesn't have one. i'm allowed to have one, i'm responsible and everything but i don't see a point in putting pictures of yourself on the internet for everyone to see.


i always hear on the news about someone gettign kidnapped because they put their location. like my friend, she putsa her exact town and everything, so doesn anyone see my point? or agree? if u do like it, why? yeah its a way to contact yr friends, what happened to the phone or aim?

I am not allowed to have one, but after seeing what most of my friends have posted like pictures and info, I DON'T EVER WANT ONE. The pictures sicken me because everyone is either trying to be emo or slutty. Its just an excuse to take pictures of yourself so everyone can tell you that your hot. And the whole meeting other people thing, my friends do that too, and sometimes im scared for them because anything could happen. I don't like it one bit.

Reply:well i cant have a myspace cuz my parents hate that site! and personally i dont like it either..but i do have a facebook! facebook is way safer...but the only reason i have it is cuz i can tlk to my cousins and friends that live far away!

Reply:I agree with you!! Its not a good website at all I don't understand why some parents let their children have one.. I'm the only one out of all my friends who don't have one.. You have to be careful on whatever website you go on though.

Reply:I had a myspace account...But it was kinda foolish. I wanted to find this guy on myspace because I liked him at the time, and when I finally did, I realized how stupid that was. But yeah, I don't like it anymore!
Reply:i love myspace...im in college and i dont have time to call all my high school friends and junior high friends and all my friends in the dominican republic with myspace i can see them let them know im thinking of them with comments and also chat with my loved ones who live in the dominican republic

But im not into the whole facebook/myspace `get as many contacts as you can and tell them where you live` thing.

Reply:oh my god, amen to that. im 16 years old and i think "myspace" and "facebook" are some of the dumbest sites around. yea i use aim and talk on the phone. i know what all my friends look like so i dont need to see pictures of themselves where they do stupid desperate looking poses... i dont mind myspcae if it is for a bands though. i wont lie, i do sometimes go to myspace and check out some of the bands pages but other then that i hate it

Reply:Yes both sites are the Bane of existance... I stopped using AIM, I don't text, and only communicate with my friends by the phone or actually walking to their house to talk with them, and the occasional email
Reply:Its not that i don't like them, because i have both of them but i just don't use them anymore. I used to use them all the time to talk to a bunch of my friends that moved to other countries (you can try using a phone for that if you want to, good luck with that bill), and yes i posted pictures of myself and told my location but i always kept my profile private. And i also never added anyone as a friend that i didn't know in person. The key is i never posted pictures of me just by myself. I always posted pictures that i took with a group of 3 or more people, so only the people who really knew me could tell which person in the picture was me. Little things like that can help you keep your privacy from perverts on websites like that.





The reason why i have a picture of just me by myself and not in a group or an avatar on here is because that box is so small that you couldn't see my face with a microscope.

Reply:Facebook is a college site, and I think high school students shouldn't be on it, personally. But my college isn't in the network of colleges, which sucks, but there should still be an age limit on it.





What's the point of having a myspace as a musician if regular people aren't on it what's the point of having it?





But little high school kids really shouldn't be on it either. Especially if they don't have he common sense to not put their location. But a lot of it has to do with them posing in front of the mirror with practically no clothes on and enough makeup to make a drag queen giddy.





AIM isn't a very effective way of contacting friends, since you can't send a message if they're offline. And not everyone likes the phone. I'd rather send a facebook message than send a text (because i only have so many before they charge me) or call.





If you don't want one, don't get one.
Reply:yes u are the only one who hates myspace. myspace is amazing thats how i keep in contact with 95% uv my friends. my question should be y and the hell would u hate myspace its so amazing. ive had a myspace since 4th grade and now im in 10th. and its not for everyone to see u abviously dont know wut to do or the point uv a myspace. u put pix up for friends to see the stuff u do and for ur friends to look at the fun times and stuff like that.


i use my cell and i use aim but u cant leave comments on a fone or aim

I like Myspace for 2 reasons.





1. It is a place for me to keep in touch with friends and family members that live far away. Long distance phone calls cost $$$, this is a way to keep in touch without having my phone bill go thru the roof. Also, you can search by school and find old friends you went to school with easily, and would other wise not have there phone # or email address.





2. It is a great place to discover new music. I love to seek out new bands and myspace is a great place to do so.





I don't put alot of personal information on my page and I don't think other people should. The problem with sites such as myspace is that immature people use it and they are not responsible in the way they use it.
Reply:I agree with you. I don't even see the point for putting your pictures on the internet for pervs to see. I go on AIM but I don't have a facebook or MySpace, I'm allowed to also, but I've tried it, and it's stupid.
